Hello. I'm Kerri. I think like an operator who specializes in people.

Business Strategy Through a People Lens.

Rather than simply relying on a resume to compete with hundreds of applicants, I decided to create a space where you can see how I think.  Here, I will share my strategic approach to organizational effectiveness, leadership, and building people and culture practices that enable business success.

I have always believed that business and people strategy are one and the same. The strongest strategies do not only define where an organization is going, but how people will get there, what change is required, and how to ensure the right conditions, communication, transparency and clarity will lend to that success.

This website is a collection of my ideas, experience, and practical solutions.  I hope it gives you a better idea of how I lead, find solutions, and help organizations grow with sustainable practices.

If you're looking for someone who leads with genuine curiosity, focuses on organizational clarity, and is focused on sustainable and scalable growth, I could be the right fit for your organization! Take a look at these pages to give you a genuine sense of who I am, how I think, and the impact I strive to create.  Let's scroll!

About Me

My career didn't begin in Human Resources.

It began in operations, sales, and advising business owners.

I learned early that every business challenge is interconnected. Sales, operations, leadership, customer experience, profitability, communication, and people all influence one another.

Those experiences shaped how I think long before I entered HR. When I eventually moved into People & Culture, I never saw it as a standalone function. I saw it as another way to help organizations perform better.

Along the way, I also built my own business. It was one of the most rewarding—and humbling—experiences of my career. It taught me lessons about growth, customer experience, profitability, and making decisions with limited resources that continue to influence how I approach business today.

That's why I often say I think like a business operator who happens to specialize in people.

Every organization needs clarity on where it is going, why it exists, and what success looks like. Whether that is captured in a formal vision and mission statement or communicated in another way is less important than ensuring people understand the direction of the business and how their work contributes to it.

Clarity alone, however, is not enough. It must be reflected in everyday work, communication, and decision-making. Posters and presentations do not create culture. Culture is built through daily interactions, how leaders communicate, the decisions they make, and the behaviours they consistently demonstrate.

Leaders set the tone for the organization. They create clarity, communicate transparently, establish consistent expectations, and build trust through their actions. By demonstrating accountability, ownership, and vulnerability, they create an environment where people feel confident to contribute, learn, and succeed together.

My Strategic Approach

HOW I THINK

Areas of Thinking:
People. Strategy. Business.

Organizational Design

I believe that well designed organizations improve decision-making, productivity, and quality based work resulting in organizational success.  This is done by creating clarity through structure, roles, workflows, and accountability.

Culture

Culture is shaped by leadership decisions, communication, transparency, clarity and everyday interactions.  I help organizations create environments where people understand expectations, feel connected to the business objectives, and an environment where employees can do their best work.

People

People strategy is more than recruitment, policies, or programs. It is about ensuring the organization has the people, leadership capability, skills, and organizational systems needed to achieve its business objectives. Every people decision should have a clear purpose, support operational priorities, and contribute to measurable business outcomes.

Let's Work Together!

Ready to align your people strategy with your business objectives? Let's discuss how we can design a culture that drives sustainable growth.  I am currently seeking a full time opportunity in the Niagara, Hamilton, Halton, or Greater Toronto area.

"I believe the best people strategies start with understanding the business. Once you know what the business is trying to achieve, you can build the people, structure and systems to support it."
